Welcome to Avondale's Friendship Park.
Avondale’s Friendship Park Sports Complex at 12325 W. McDowell is a multi use facility, serving the needs of youth and adult sports as well as proving a safe and enjoyable environment for family fun. One of the signature features of the park is the charming Japanese Garden with its gazebo situated alongside a small lagoon. The garden is a tribute to Avondale’s sister city, Kaizu, Japan. Spread over 55-acres, the park can accommodate a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis and has several multi use fields. There are walking trails for those who like to do their exercising in a picturesque setting. Families can enjoy a picnic under one of the ramadas. Barbeques are available. There are playgrounds for the kids and a dog park for your four legged friends. Friendship Park has indoor restroom facilities. Permits are necessary for groups wanting to reserve park facilities. They can be secured by calling the Community/Recreation office Monday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. The number is (623) 333-2400.
